Turkish Workers Party attends Damascus anti-terrorism conference

The Workers' Party of Turkey has held a meeting in Istanbul after attending a conference in Syria on confronting terrorism. The conference dubbed "Struggle Against International Terrorism and Religious Extremism" was hosted by the Syrian minister of justice.

The Workers’ Party of Turkey delegation that attended the two-day conference organized by the Syrian Ministry of Justice in the Syrian capital Damascus held a briefing session in Istanbul. The conference was aimed at ascertaining legal criteria to confront terrorism and its repercussions that threaten the regional and international communities.
The Workers’ Party of Turkey delegation participated in the formation of the final conference declaration, which is to establish a war crimes court to try crimes and impose punishments.The session also focused on the Turkey-Syria relation, regional solidarity and integration. The means, they said is to reject foreign intervention, especially in view of the use of local terrorist groups by Western powers. They do not really trust Erdogan anymore, but what they care most is establishing peace and stability and unity in their country. So they would welcome it if Erdogan took a step in that direction.
They all clearly see the role of Qatar and the US in Turkey, they underline that there is no conflict between the Syrian people and the Turkish people. Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fueled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 200,000 people. The Western powers and their regional allies are accused of supporting the militants operating inside Syria. The unanimous message of the conference was for Turkey to help stem regional terrorism and religious extremism by closing its borders to prevent militants from crossing to and from.
