Saskia Sassen was in Athens in June to deliver a lecture about Europe's future and the pattern of "Financializing" and austerity politics which Greece is a part of. The day of the lecture she talked to us in a very interesting interview. The video is available on the website of our Greek office.

Many people in Greece and Europe are facing an acute housing crisis. Alternatives are needed to overcome the current trend to precarious housing conditions, rising homelessness as well as energy poverty. On the occasion of the Week of Action in Solidarity with Greece and against Austerity last month, we organised an international meeting on housing with many different partners. Viele Menschen in Griechenland und Europa befinden sich in einer akuten Wohnungskrise. Alternativen müssen her um den gegenwärtigen Trend zu prekären Wohnbedingungen, steigender Obdachlosigkeit und Energiearmut umzukehren. Im Rahmen der Aktionswoche Solidarität mit Griechenland und gegen Austerität im Juni haben wir mit vielen Partnern ein internationales Treffen rund um das Thema Recht auf Wohnen organisiert.
