COMMUNIQUE AND PRESS RELEASE
The Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua reiterates its Firm Position of Condemnation and Rejection of the Criminal and Inhuman Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade imposed by the United States of America against the People and Government of Cuba for more than 60 years.
Nicaragua condemns the inclusion of Countries on unilateral lists based on false pretexts, contrary to International law and the Charter of the United Nations, including unfounded accusations of sponsoring terrorism. These lists and the inclusion of the Sister Republic of Cuba in them, are one more tool used by the United States to justify its use of illegal, coercive measures in order to apply economic and political pressure, in a clear violation of the sovereignty of the Cuban State.
Nicaragua defends and will continue to defend the Sovereignty and Self-Determination of Peoples, Respect for International Law and the Ability of Peoples to make their own way without external aggression. In this spirit, Nicaragua, Sovereign, Blessed and Always Free, pronounces for and demands the exclusion of Cuba from the infamous “List of State Sponsors of Terrorism”.
The Government of Reconciliation and National Unity will continue in all International Forums to lobby for the United Nations Resolutions mandating an end to the Illegal Policy of Aggression against the Sister Republic of Cuba to be respected and complied with.
