It is possible to be an independent nation and still remain under the domination of an external power, whether in the political, ideological, economic, or cultural spheres.

Although force is commonly used by imperialists and colonialists to impose themselves on peoples, most of the time this results from the role of surrender played out by the local political and economic classes when they decide to submit to these powers and serve serve foreign interests in exchange for their staying in power being secure.

And then there is Revolution.

Every Revolution of a popular character and of a transformative and emancipatory nature is obliged to free us from this kind of subjugation.

That is why it is so natural that the Sandinista Revolution has joined the group of countries which aim to consolidate a Multipolar World, in which no single voice and its particular interests are able to define the course of global politics and the economy.

This way does not seek to impose the domination of any great power over the Peoples of the World. On the contrary, it seeks to dethrone the imperial powers so as to democratize our planet.

And in that sense, Sandinismo continues to insist on the urgent need to build a solid bloc of nations who share this vision, facing together the challenges of the present and the future.

Achieving this great unity should by no means seek to make nations conform to the same model or ideology. The goal is to achieve the unity of Peoples from their wide diversity; whereby each nation designs and implements its own formula of democracy and human development, according to its own characteristics and idiosyncrasies.

Revolutionary processes with deep popular roots proclaim, establish and defend the true independence of Peoples, where sovereignty and self-determination are the norm. Thus, the Sandinista Revolution knows that the unity of those nations historically threatened and harassed by the imperialists of the Earth constitutes the path to that true independence.

More and more nations must be (and surely will be) liberated from colonial and imperial practices. This will open the way to a new world in which Life is protected, one that guarantees the fulfillment of the rights of everyone who inhabits it. In the words of Daniel "a new world is being shaped that will bring Peace and Happiness to humanity."

The subjugation imposed by the elites on the great majorities will disappear when the Peoples unite to build their true independence.

If it is just, then long dreamed of change is always possible.
