Mr. President,
1. Nicaragua associates itself with the statement delivered by Uganda on behalf of the Group of 77+China.
2. Faced with the constant challenges confronting us at the global level, it is essential to strengthen cooperation, international solidarity, through robust multilateralism, in order to guarantee that all the Peoples of the World fully enjoy their rights to universal quality health.
3. The Government of the Republic of Nicaragua conceives health as a fundamental, free and quality Human Right, promoting a Model based on the reality and conditions of our country, with a preventive approach for individuals, families and communities involving proactive actions.
4. In accordance with our global commitments with regard to Antimicrobial Resistance, Nicaragua has developed the National Action Plan for the Containment of Antimicrobial Resistance (PANCRAM) 2020-2024.
5. This plan includes five strategic lines, developed in coordination with the governing institutions of human health, animal health, plant, environment and universities of the Nicaraguan public sector, with the aim of identifying actions to contain antimicrobial resistance.
Mr. President,
6. In the Global Efforts regarding Antimicrobial Resistance, it is absolutely vital that developed countries provide developing countries with finance, technology transfer and capacity building.
7. In this sense, it is urgent to put an end to all the Illegal, Terrorist and Inhuman Unilateral Coercive Measures that the imperialists impose on our free peoples, these aggressive measures hinder the development of those countries that are victims of these actions which violate international law and the United Nations charter.
8. Finally, the Government of Nicaragua reaffirms its commitment to continue guaranteeing the health security of Nicaraguan families, and to support global efforts addressing Antimicrobial Resistance.
Thank you very much
