We have reached the threshold of the year 2024, a cycle that has challenged us, but has also forged us with the fire of hope and the force of change. Today we celebrate not only the end of another year, but the firmness of our steps towards a fairer and brighter tomorrow!
On this journey, we have witnessed divine action in our lives, manifesting itself in our resistance, in the unity of our Peoples, and in every act of love for our neighbor. God walks alongside us, illuminating our battles, reminding us that we are instruments of His justice.
The year 2024 has been a period of challenges that have tested us as a society and as individuals. Economic crises, political conflicts, health emergencies and humanitarian disasters have highlighted our need for adaptation and resilience. However, they have also left us with valuable lessons: the importance of determination, planning and collaboration to face adversity so as to keep moving towards our goals.
In this context, it is crucial to reflect on the state of humanism in today's world. Throughout the year, we have witnessed how Western systems that proclaim themselves human rights defenders have shown their hypocrisy in the face of crimes of violence, oppression and intimidation in various regions, particularly in Gaza. The Palestinian people, with their resistance and exemplary leadership, have highlighted fundamental values such as solidarity based collective effort and effective communication, which transcend their local context and offer lessons applicable to global leadership.
In this new year, 2025, we reaffirm our solidarity with the Palestinian people and our condemnation of the injustices committed against them. Nicaragua calls on the international community to act firmly against the crimes of humanity that affect children, women and the elderly. Our unwavering position in support of the Palestinian cause reflects our vision of a more just and caring world.
In Nicaragua, we are in a moment of transition towards the New Year. We proudly remember our rich history and the sacrifices of those who fought against colonialism and for freedom. The Sandinista Popular Revolution symbolizes that courage and determination, turning the sacrifices of the past into a path of dignity and progress. This legacy inspires our youth, who take up the torch to continue building a strong Nicaragua, committed to justice, sovereignty and the elimination of all forms of hegemony.
Our nation is moving forward steadily under the leadership of our beloved leaders and compañer@s, Comandante Daniel Ortega, President of the Republic and Compañera. Rosario Murillo, our Vice President, towards economic and social development, guided by concrete achievements that reinforce our collective responsibility and promote integrity.
Despite disinformation campaigns and attempts to undermine our progress, we continue to work with determination to achieve our strategic goals. We honor the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for a better future and renew our commitment to building a more equitable and humane society.
As the year ends, we should also reflect on the challenges and disappointments we face. Every obstacle overcome offers us a learning opportunity. It is a time to leave behind what is holding us back and move forward with renewed energy and purpose. Hard work and dedication are allies of those who seek a better future.
In conclusion, the legacy of our martyrs and heroes remains our guide for present and future generations. Their memory drives us to work for a more just, sovereign and prosperous country. Let us make the New Year a new beginning, with will and determination to transform every day into an opportunity for change towards a more humane, tolerant and just world.
