FOR POPE FRANCIS
The First Pope of Our America-Caribbean, Citizen of this Continent, Jorge Bergoglio, Francis, in admiration and commitment to the profound Teachings of St. Francis of Assisi, has passed to another Plane of Life, with the Prayers of the Community and Religions of the World.
Our relations, as Nicaraguans of faith, devout and loyal to the Doctrine of Christ Jesus, were difficult, not by choice, but unfortunately influenced by adverse, painful circumstances which were sometimes misunderstood.
Despite the complexity and hardness, given the manipulations of which we are all well aware, despite the regrets, we kept our Hopes high out of our Christian Faith, since we knew how to comprehend the distance and, most of all, the complicated and altered Communications which did not allow us to maintain the best relationship, although we also knew how to regard the confusion generated by high-sounding voices out to hinder any attempt at genuine interaction.
We admire his travels around the world promoting Peace, trying to create a Church committed to the Duty and Responsibility of creating Harmony, based on indispensable Christian Solidarity and Brother and Sisterhood.
Today, April 21st we send our Prayers for the Eternal Rest of Pope Francis, trusting that God will allow the Catholic Church to call for True Peace, Understanding, Harmony, Respect, as well as Solidarity- inspired, Complementary Cooperation, to contribute to transcending the painful conflicts we are living through, and to promote and practice the Teachings of the King of Kings, Christ Jesus.
To His Eminence The Most Reverend Cardinal Leopoldo José Brenes, and to the Church in Nicaragua, our Consideration in these moments of Transition to what we all want and need: That Better World which we must build, and too True Fraternity, as the Gospel preaches with the Strength of the Great Teacher, Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
