Dear Madam:
We greet you on the occasion of addressing the unacceptable and inadmissible actions of UNESCO against the Nicaraguan State, by granting undeserved recognition to the "Newspaper La Prensa"; which we condemn and reject in the strongest possible terms, as we have already stated in communication entitled "A BLOW TO UNESCO," which was sent to you today.
The "Newspaper La Prensa" represents the vile betrayal against our Motherland, as a media that has historically promoted and supported violence, interference, hate crimes, cruelty, anti-culture and anti-values; as a media serving, promoting and defending US Military and Political Occupations and Interventions in Nicaragua.
It is deeply shameful that UNESCO appears as the promoter, and obviously as an accomplice, of an action that offends and attacks the deepest Values of Nicaragua's National Identity and Culture, lacking objectivity and discrediting itself. Therefore, the Government of the Republic of Nicaragua, based on Article 2, Paragraph 6 of the UNESCO Constitution, informs of its Sovereign and Firm decision to withdraw from the Organization.
