On learning the news of the death in Costa Rica of former Nicaraguan President, Doña Violeta Barrios de Chamorro, the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity reaffirms the contribution her Figure represented to achieve the necessary Peace in our country. First, with the Triumph of the Revolution, in the Government Junta of National Reconstruction and then from 1990 onwards.
Former President Chamorro, standing in an election whose results reflected the infinite fatigue and suffering of the war imposed on Nicaragua by the Imperialists of the Earth, offered the possibility of formalizing the conclusion of that unjust and bloody war.
By recognizing her Government, we set out to work for Stability and Security in the Life of Nicaragua’s Families.
Rest in Peace, Doña Violeta, and may the Peace that all of us protect and defend continue to shine in all its beauty in our skies, for us to advance towards Liberation from Poverty.
