Remarks by Rosario, Co-President of Nicaragua,
after the Central Act in Celebration of the 47th Anniversary of the Sandinista Popular Revolution

A very good evening, beloved families of this Nicaragua of ours, as Comandante Daniel has ratified today, all the Acts, all the Glories, every Act and every Glory, all the Victories here are of the People President.
As Daniel said, as we all believe and know, all of us who have lived through these times that have been so very challenging, and for that reason also, Times that have forged us. It is a formidable solidity, the one we see in this plaza, the one we see in all the country’s plazas.
Fidel was telling me that over 300 events have been held in our Municipalities and Communities. That is the solidity of a People who knows that, first of all, it fights for Peace, for Good, and also, above all, that Struggle is the most exalted of Songs.
And here, where we have lived through so much pain and so much love, we know that to strive and to know how to fight is to overcome, because we do not fight with hatred... No! We fight with Love and for Love, and that is really fundamental to be able to understand what Nicaraguans are made of.
Where does this Strength of Spirit come from? It does not come from hatred, it does not come from evil, it does not come from a desire for destruction, it does not come from envy, it does not come from the lowest of abject feelings. This strength comes from God!
It is the great power of God that is manifest in our Nicaragua, in each and every Nicaraguan who has lived all these Times with Hope, never denying, always believing that there are different Times, Times of Struggle and Times of Victory.
We, who have been here always, know that Love is the transcendental force that must and does move the World, the Peoples of the World, above all.
Wherever there are conflicts, wherever there are mistakes, wherever there is, unfortunately, greed and ambition... there, well, it's time to learn.
Here, where we have lived learning a truly magical history, the history Nicaragua has lived, a history that has forged us all, a history for which we bless the Heavenly Father every day, because we know that this is not accidental.
To have this Strength of Spirit is not accidental, to have the ability to live from the Spirit, is not accidental; to have Darío, a great, great poet, a universal poet, father or Prince of Castilian Letters; to have our General Sandino, Zeledón, so many Heroes, none of it is accidental. It shows there is a Higher Force here, the Force of God, that moves us all and that makes us capable of transcending and going onward.
When we see the challenges, the difficulties, when we see the suffering, when we see the grief, we know in the midst of it all there is the Strength of God, the Blessings of the Father, and we know how to go onward, because we know how to overcome, and because we know how we must live. To live is to take on challenges, difficulties, and to recognize, in all the challenges and difficulties, the capacity we need to find and which God gives us, to advance, to make our way, to build Peace, to strengthen Affection.
A warm embrace to everyone. We are celebrating our Victories, our Glories. But what are we celebrating most of all? That God is here, this is a People of God, God is here and He manifests himself in every way. And we know then that We are going onward toward more Victories, Victories of Peace and Affection, of Family, Youth, Women and Grandparents, and toward the Well-being Nicaragua’s Families deserve.
Tranquility, Security, Prosperity... Tranquility, of course, that Security along with the Capacity for Work and Prosperity. We are here to build each of these values every day. A safe Nicaragua, a serene Nicaragua, as Nicaragua’s Families deserve, a stable Nicaragua. Stability, Security, Tranquility are what allow us to prosper... Security, Tranquility, Stability, Peace. All that means Peace and all that means prosperity.
