GRUN Message during the First Video-Conference Session of 2021 with National and International Non-Governmental Organizations

(Good morning and cordial greetings to all)
Dear Representatives of Non-Governmental, National and International Organizations;
Dear Comrades of the Government Cabinet;
Dear Ambassadors of Nicaragua Accredited and fulfilling missions to other Peoples and Governments;
Dear and esteemed representatives of Nicaragua Solidarity Movements, Friendship Associations and Sister City Committees that accompany us from different countries;
Dear Comrades of the Citizen Power Media.
1.- We convey the fraternal greetings and best wishes for Peace, Health and Prosperity from the President of the Republic, Comandante Daniel Ortega Saavedra, and from Comrade Vice President Rosario Murillo, in this Year that begins, wishing the best for you alongside your loved ones.
2.- We appreciate your participation in this Virtual Meeting, greeting us in this New Year 2021 with a renewed spirit of cooperation, as well as dynamic and complementary solidarity that has characterized you. We reiterate the commitment of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity to continue strengthening the relations of Friendship, Cooperation and mutual Solidarity with the Non-Governmental Organizations that you represent with creative energy.
3.- The Government of Reconciliation and National Unity thanks the Non-Governmental, National and International Organizations, their accredited representatives to our Country, the permanent, active and fruitful accompaniment to the People and Government of Nicaragua during 2020, with many challenges of force majeure phenomena that we face together, which have allowed us to achieve more and new learning and achievements for the benefit of the population, especially the most vulnerable sectors.
4.- To the Sisters, Brothers, comrades of the Solidarity Movements with Nicaragua, the Friendship Associations and Sister City Committees in the different countries and continents, we thank you for your cooperation and solidarity.
5.- We express to you with affection and respect, that this year 2021 will be an honor for us to continue counting on your permanent Solidarity, with the activities and communication that promote the positive reality and the truth about Nicaragua.
6.- Our Country advances willingly for the Common Good, countering the aggressive actions of those who unjustly want to obstruct victorious hopes and the future of success that belongs to us all. Together we will continue forward, advancing, building the Patriotic, Dignified, Supportive and complementary future in all areas of our daily lives.
7.- Dear friends, we invite you to continue working and carrying out sustained coordination with the different State institutions, for the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals.
8.- With the Dignity of our Heroic People, we continue with the invariable Purpose of achieving a Poverty Free Motherland, advancing with Optimism towards Human Development.
9.- The Government of Nicaragua will continue to develop a balanced strategy with the economy, in order to advance in freeing ourselves from poverty, in all of its forms and dimensions.
10.- We will continue to promote our cooperative, respectful and complementary relationships with the National Program to Fight Poverty aiming to achieve Human Development, which the People of Nicaragua deserve.
11.- We will continue promoting and working for Health, Education, Science, Art, Culture, Technology, Environmental Protection, Fighting Against Climate Change, and other priorities, with the Support, Cooperation, Accompaniment and Solidarity of all NGO’s.
Dear Friends, Comrades of Non-Governmental Organizations, Solidarity Movements, Friendship Associations and Sister City Committees.
12.- In this complex world, with novel international political phenomena, we continue to base our relations with NGO’s, on Non-interference within our Internal Affairs, Respect for Sovereignty and Independence, working for Peace, Sovereign Security and for the Common Good of our people.
13.- The past year has provided many lessons in a variety of fields. It has taught us that we urgently need Peace, Security, Stability in the World, and a New International Economic Order that prioritizes Life, Health, the Fight against Poverty, one that is Responsible, Fair, that acts with Respect, Cooperation, Complementarity, and in which there is no room for unilateral, coercive, arbitrary and illegal measures, which some call sanctions and which obstruct the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals, hindering the progress of the peoples and the solidarity of NGO’s.
14.- We share with all NGO’s that the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity will continue to promote the inclusion of Losses and Damages in addition to the categories of Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change, both in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, as well as in relation to climate financing. Our position to demand Climate Justice and a Policy of Reparation is fair and necessary in the fight against climate change.
15.- In this same field of Climate Change, our Government considers it necessary to promote a “Green Alliance” between developed and developing countries, in order to face the combined consequences of climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic.
16.- The Government of Reconciliation and National Unity and the NGO’s continue in communication during this new year 2021, cordially serving them as the public servants that we are, with the spirit of strengthening our friendly relations, increasing solidarity, complementarity and creative cooperation with Nicaragua.
17.- We deeply appreciate, on behalf of the Nicaraguan Families and our Government, the Solidarity and Cooperation provided by the Organizations that you have worthily represented throughout 2020, such a complex and challenging year of Pandemic and Hurricanes in which you have been present, with a Will and Heart of Solidarity, accompanying Nicaragua and our Noble, Brave and Worthy Nicaraguan People.
18.- As public servants that we are, we will continue to serve you with commitment, respect and enthusiasm, recognizing the important work carried out by NGO’s contributing to the development of our country.
19.- May this New Year 2021, a year that we have called from our Christian and Solidarity Values, a Year to Grow in Victorious Hope, continue to bring us together in Peace, Health and Wellbeing with the best purposes for our people, always wishing the best for You and your Families.
On the fourteenth anniversary of the People President, committed to changing Nicaragua through work, security, stability and Peace, we will continue to gather in these meetings and paths of Hope and Victories of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity. We wish you health and success in this New Year 2021.
