MEETING OF CELAC FOREIGN MINISTERS
BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBERATOR

Brothers and sisters of our Community
of Latin American and Caribbean States :
We feel honored and happy about this meeting taking place on the birthday of the Liberator, that exemplary fighter for the Rights of our Peoples, that Simon Bolivar who teaches and enlightens us all.
We cannot fail to mention the Mexican heroes who, together with their Peoples and communities, defended the Right of the very poorest to live with Land and Liberty, to work, taking the paths of revolutionary glory, for the pride and teaching of our Great Nation.
From the country of Benjamin Zeledon and Augusto Sandino, we feel honored to share these times of heroic dimensions, because we have in these historic moments the privilege of defending our sovereignties and national dignities, in titanic struggles against the Yankee, enemy of Humanity, and the colonial and neocolonial, imperialist and supremacist Powers of Always.
These are days to strengthen our Unity against the declining, decadent and hopeless evil Powers, who attack our sacred rights, as if the world belonged to them, or as if they could still dominate us with blood and fire, plundering our cultures, wealth and patrimony, which do not belong to them.
And in these days we want to evoke all the Greats of our Caribbean-America... We feel that we are courageous and worthy sons and daughters of Bolivar, Marti, Sandino, Fidel, Chavez, and so many Beings of Light that show the Way for us to continue engaging in these battles with ardent spirit, with evolutionary passion and with our right to promote freedom.
If they (the Yankees) did not learn this in Philadelphia
they learned it with blood in Nicaragua:
there awaiting them was the captain of the people:
Augusto C. Sandino was his name.
And in this song his name will remain
stupendous as a flame
to give us light and fire
in the continuation of his battles -
CELAC was formed, a struggle, an immense struggle, led by Fidel and Chavez and so many Heads of States of our Caribbean-American States, and it was not formed to become another Ministry of Colonies, anotherof History's garbage dumps, another pile of dross, another open sewer. CELAC is not and cannot be the OAS. CELAC is, and must be, Heritage, Flags and Banners, Swords of Fire, defending the Sacred Right of our Peoples to live in Peace, to advance against Poverty, to develop with Justice and Equity, to prospering, simply being victorious warriors of the caste of the Great Visionaries of our Continent.
CELAC cannot be, nor is it, another OAS. It was created for Union, for the realization of the Supreme Dreams of Bolivar and all our forebears It was created for Life, Liberty, Fraternity, Complementarity and Solidarity.
We reject any attempt to turn CELAC into what it has never been, nor will be, and we call upon ourselves to continue working with Dignity and our own Voices, in Brotherhood and Unity of our Peoples, for the Common Good.
From CELAC we condemn, reject and repudiate all the malevolent, malignant, false, perverse attempts to destroy the Peoples and Revolutions of Cuba, Bolivia, Venezuela and Nicaragua with so many infamous mechanisms. We condemn, reject, repudiate and demand the immediate cessation of the brutal and criminal blockade against the Cuban People.
In these times of assaults on Peace and of abundance of aberrations, lies, slander and nefarious fabrications, we reiterate to the declining, decadent and hopeless Empires, that our historical gallantry is not mere vain talk, but a histroy of struggles and lofty ideals that belong to us, that are ours, in a Force generating Solidarity and Triumph.
