Allow us to express our consternation for the cruel assassination of The Honorable David Amess, Conservative Member of Parliament for Southend West, during a constituency meeting in East London.
These despicable and criminal acts of violence have no place in civilized societies and must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
In these moments of profound national mourning, allow us to express our most sincere condolences to the families and friends of Mr. David Amess, as well as to the People and Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in benefit of whom he dedicated over 40 years of community service and political life.
