Declarations by Comrade Rosario, Vice President of Nicaragua after the Act of Swearing in
and Inauguration of the New Period of the People President

Pride of Our Country ...! Pride of our Blessed, Sovereign, Worthy Nicaragua, Always Free! Pride to be born here, to live here, to grow up here, and to grow in every sense of the word!
Today is a historic day. Every day we grow and today we grow even more, because we know that this has been an Exercise of National Sovereignty and that the Victories are for the Heroic People and President, the People-President of our Blessed Nicaragua!
Today is a day of starting and restarting of all the Programs, of all the Plans that must take us Forward, strengthening Peace, Goodwill and Concord; Everyone´s Right to live in peace, security, working, studying, taking care of our Health and prospering.
Today, in the faces of all these youngsters, all of this Youth that moves forward, in the eyes of Heroic Sisters such as Brenda, we can feel that youth that also sacrificed everything for Life, Health, for the Right of the
Nicaraguan families to have Rights, to live studying, working and prospering.
And the Eternal Youth, those who could not see the Triumph, but are with us creating the New Times of Victories, those that inspire and commit us every day, because we know that because of them, because of our Heroes and Martyrs, the Nicaraguans, by the Grace of God, who believe and love our Nicaragua, are here today.
Today we are beginning a New Period of the People-President, thanks to all those Good, Devoted Souls, who have given themselves, who gave themselves and who continue to give, because now the struggles, Thank God, are different.
That terrible episode in April, that episode was the attempt to return us to Somocismo, one of the fiercest dictatorships that Latin America has ever known. That was the attempt to take us back... Retrograde! Unfortunately, promoters of death, of destruction.
Whereas, all those Sisters and Brothers who have given their Lives for the Motherland and who have given it precisely by fighting against the retrogrades, all those Good Souls that are here and inspire us, and we thank them for these New Times and these New Days.
We are creating, strengthening, consolidating Peace, because without Peace, without Stability, we cannot advance against Poverty, and the Nicaraguan Families know this well, we all know it very well. Our People were advancing, this Country was moving forward, and We Are Moving Forward, and our Families also know that very well, with the firmness, coherence, sense of Dignity and Patriotism that we have, we knew how to transcend those dark moments.
But we were doing very well and that is what they wanted to interrupt... Why? Because this Process and this Revolutionary Project is for Justice and Peace. So that the entire People, without exceptions, may have the Right to work and prosper. Not only the wealthy... Everyone!
The wealthy had the right to work and even make more money for themselves, with the fact that in the Alliance Model we all participated, and they earned, they provided jobs and contributed somewhat to the growth that we had. But that's where the debacle came from. It is selfishness, human greed and the attempt to return us to a nefarious Past, a disastrous Past, and they attempted to kill us all.
That was a heroic struggle of Conscience and the Conscience of the People prevailed, and won. And here we are, thankful to God for all his Blessings. Asking him to give us Strength, to give us Health, Strength and Fortitude to remain dedicated, in our Mission of Christian and Fraternal Solidarity, to advance Together, to create the best conditions to advance Together in Nicaragua. To overcome Poverty. To install a Society of Wellbeing, where we all feel content, Blessed, Prosperous and in Victories!
So, today, 10th January, our embrace is for the Families, with the Commitment to continue creating the Future that we deserve, and to continue forging and consolidating this Present, which is of Love, of Family, of Faith, of Community. This Present in which we travel, because they are Stages of History to move forward, always committed to that Nicaragua that we all dream of, that Nicaragua that achieved, at a certain moment in our History, that we all could move Together, All of us Together moving Forward and defeating the Dictatorship.
And now, we call upon one another to Move Forward to overcome Poverty. We defeated the Dictatorship... We defeated the aggressions, we continue to defeat them... We defeated that criminal, terrorist attempt, to retreat to the Past, and here we are, always aware and clear, that it is united that we can work and prosper, like everyone else. We deserve it.
Nicaragua is made of Vigor and Glory, and we are made of Love, we are made for Freedom, for Humanity, we are made for Prosperity.
Thank you. My firm Embrace, and the Commitment, I reiterate, of all of us, to continue with all of our Strength, all of our Heart, dedicated to serving this People, All of us... A People of God!
