NOT IN THE NAME OF FEMINISM!

The women we meet in the space of the International Network of Articulation Of Women’s Organizations, Social Movements and Women of Political Parties of Left (RIAOMPI) denounce the instrumentalization of the feminist movement to reinforce the imperialist agenda against the revolutionary processes in Latin America and the Caribbean. It’s no coincidence that at the gates of 8M the discourse returns in some feminist spaces against Daniel Ortega and the Nicaraguan government.

US imperialism tries to instrumentalize us women, in our struggles and organizations, to justify their imperialist attacks against countries that wanting maintain their sovereignty and independence from the United States, qualify them as “terrorists”.

The same recipe that they have used in other countries with false accusations of dictatorial states such as Venezuela or Cuba, apply it to Nicaragua with the called “Feminist Articulation”, made up of groups on Nicaraguan women and other nationalities, based in France, Holland, United Kingdom, Germany and Spain.

The activity of this Articulation focuses on “placing the feminist voice and gaze on what happens in Nicaragua”, from a manipulated speech that has leaked in spaces international feminists.

We do not want to be instrumentalized by the US and its allies, since the narrative comes from feminist organizations financed by the US, from the oligarchies disguised as civil society and characters that are closely related to the US extreme right.

Because we must isolate the feminist movement from the clutches of fascist imperialism and patriarchal. Because the feminist movement has revealed for many people the alliance criminal between patriarchy and capital, hence his desire to blow up the movement feminist, so that this revelation does not continue to awaken the conscience of women workers and people in general who are aware of the contradiction of the system with life itself.

By sisterhood with Nicaraguan women, because we know that those of the Articulation do not represent them and because we are aware of the advances
in equality that have achieved with his revolution, we respect his struggles for the issue of health and sexual and reproductive rights that only the people of Nicaragua should decide without any foreign interference.

According to the Global Gender Gap Report 2020, prepared annually by the World Economic Forum, the progress of the 153 countries evaluated towards gender equality is analyzed based on four factors: political empowerment, health and survival, economic participation and educational achievement.

UN Women highlights Nicaragua, which in 2006 ranked 62nd in this classification and that currently can boast of having the gap of narrowest gender in all of Latin America, being the fifth country in the world where there is more equality between men and women. It is more, that in a score of 0 to 1, has risen 0.139 (¡!) since 2006, with Ortega being president since 2007. What means that it improves not only the global position, but also the advancement in the own country.

The women of the RIAOMPI express our indignation that in the name of the emancipation of women are defending the interests of a power imperialist, which seeks to unseat a democratically elected government last November 2021, with the support of 75% of the votes and with the participation of 65.34% percent of the electorate, significantly higher than the one that it occurs in the USA.

A power that is ultimately seeking the same thing it has done with other countries in Latin America with its interference, which has not improved living conditions of women but quite the opposite.

We denounce the leak in the international feminist movement of the groups self-styled feminists of the “Articulation” who are NGOs financed or directly by the US government itself or by globalist foundations philanthropic organizations that share the same goals.

Feminism that defends the interests of working and peasant women, regardless of their nationality, cannot be an accomplice to the genocides that the United States has perpetrated in Latin America and the Caribbean, what it considers its backyards butts and that does not give up to continue controlling.

From the RIAOMPI we denounce the manipulation implied by the discourse of those who, presenting themselves in the name of feminism, they work for other interests.

Not in our name. Nicaragua and Nicaraguan women are sovereign to decide the changes that need to be made. Not the money and the agenda of the United States and its allies.
