Good afternoon, Nicaraguan brothers and sisters, Nicaraguan families, the Delegation of the Russian Federation, headed by the Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Yuri Borisov, is about to leave. We have had the chance to share with him the agenda they were able to complete. In a short time, all the issues that needed to be addressed were dealt with, always working for Peace.
We have always accompanied Russia in the struggle for Peace, and the best point of reference that Humanity has, in defense of Peace, in the struggle for Peace, is the blood, the heroism of the Russian People, when they confronted Fascism, Nazism, and defeated them, saving Europe, saving the United States, saving Humanity. That cannot be forgotten! And these are moments when again the Empires are attacking Peace, and assaulting Peace in the way they are attacking Russia.
And we cannot forget what happened a few years ago, not long ago, with the coup d'état in Ukraine. A coup d'etat took place there, just like the one they tried here in 2018. They bathed the Nicaraguan People in blood, they destroyed, they burned, but they did not manage to defeat the People.
In Ukraine it was a bloodbath that ended in a coup d'etat, a coup d'etat that did not receive the condemnation nor the rejection of the international community, of Europe, of the United States; on the contrary, it was a coup d'etat that was fomented and encouraged, by those who now again want to take action against Peace.
And so in these circumstances, in which we have received the delegation headed by Brother, Compañero, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, we express to the People of Russia, we express to President Putin, our Solidarity, and our encouragement in this struggle that the Russian People are waging for Peace.
And well, here we have a Peace Agenda, dealing with economic issues, trade issues, issues that have to do with strengthening the relations between our Peoples. A very large Delegation, with Deputy Ministers of the different portfolios of the Russian Federation, who have been discussing with our officials, with our Ministers, all the issues on the Agenda, and this has been an intense day. A Day for Peace.
So, dear Brother Yuri, our greetings to the Russian People, to President Putin, to his Government. Our accompaniment in this struggle for Peace. And we are sure that, once again, Peace will prevail, over the attempts of war, of aggression, of expansion, of the Imperialists of the Earth. Thank you.
Remarks by Compañero Yuri Borisov
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation
Esteemed Mr. President, esteemed Compañera Rosario, we are here to represent our country and our President. At your request we are here to see the possibilities of expanding the spheres of cooperation, to strengthen the ties of cooperation between our fraternal peoples.
Over the last year, the exchange of goods between our countries has grown 3 times, exceeding 160 million. And this is not the limit, we have seen, we have analyzed and we realized that we are able to multiply this amount of exchange of goods between our countries several times. This is what we are going to continue working on, this is our commitment.
For more than 40 years we have been providing technological and military support to your Army, and we will continue to provide our support and we will work in this direction as well.
I would like to thank you for the warm welcome you have given us; we have a lot of things, a lot of fields to work on together, and we hope that today's visit will bear fruit in the future, and soon.
