INTERVENTION BY THE GOVERNMENT OF RECONCILIATION AND NATIONAL UNITY
AT THE PERMANENT COUNCIL OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES

Thank you very much, Mr. President.
The Delegation of the Republic of Nicaragua before this Permanent Council REJECTS, in the strongest and most categorical manner, this INFAMOUS call for a new Session of the Permanent Council of the OAS to address "the situation in Nicaragua".
We want to make it very clear that we are not an issue on Washington's ideological agenda, we are not a political experiment, we are not anyone's backyard, nor are we part of its Ministry of Colonies; we are the Sovereign Motherland of Augusto Calderón Sandino and Benjamin Zeledón. Our sovereignty and legitimacy do not come from this dying and shameful Organization, but from the will of the Nicaraguan people, from a Free Motherland, where the People are and will continue to be President.
While some bow their heads and are ashamed of their Revolutionary Principles and Values, we defend our Free and Sovereign Motherland with dignity.
Mr. President, today we denounce all those countries that promote resolutions and speak of human rights. The worst prison in the world is Guantanamo, where there are American experts in torture; I ask, when has the IACHR gone to Guantanamo, because they do not request a session on the prisons were migrant children are humiliated and mistreated, or for the massacred indigenous people in Canada, who still yesterday read with horror the discovery of new mass graves. Canada has no moral to talk about human rights. But also Chile, whose Carabineros blinded hundreds of young university students and were the raping of young detainees has been reported. For a year that IACHR on-site visit report has been hidden. Let's not talk about Black Lives Matter anymore, where Antigua and Barbuda cowardly kept quiet so as not to offend the empire. We never saw a tweet about the death of George Floyd or Rihanna Taylor.
What we have here today is a Ministry of Colonies, fully kneeling and prostrate at the feet of their masters. The OAS Agenda is dictated from Pennsylvania Avenue and not from the Simón Bolívar Hall or the Hall of the Americas.
Mr. President, our people, whose only sworn enemy is poverty and social exclusion, have been sanctioned, threatened and blackmailed, but they have NEVER knelt before any EMPIRE, because as long as Nicaragua has children who love her, Nicaragua will be a Free MOTHERLAND.
We are convinced and firmly believe that the fight for the poor is not a poor fight, as has been reviled. In our country we have bravely assumed a mandate renewed by the Free and Sovereign Will of the Nicaraguan People, which calls us and motivates us to continue building the indisputable victories in the Fight against Poverty; Gender equality; Universal, Free and Quality Health and Education; Rights of Indigenous and Afro descendant Peoples; Citizen security; Renewable energies, among many other demands that the People of Nicaragua deserve and demand. We will continue to work hard and with dedication, in order to address really important issues such as climate justice, global warming, the Covid-19 pandemic and other endemics that threaten our RIGHT TO INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT, OUR FREEDOM AND OUR WELLBEING.
Our country will continue to defend the Principles of Respect for National Sovereignty, Freedom of Self-determination and Non interference. These principles are not for sale, nor are they an exclusive right of the powers or their lackeys, they are inalienable rights of all Peoples.
Mr. President, as we leave this declining OAS, like its masters of the empire, we see in the distance how this Ministry of Colonies advances myopic and deaf-mute in the face of the injustices of these lands; stumbling over realities that it wishes to ignore, hiding murders, xenophobia, drug trafficking, inhuman blockades and even coups d’état.
