REMARKS BY THE STATE OF NICARAGUA,
REGARDING THE RESOLUTION AGAINST OUR COUNTRY,
AT THE HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL
OF THE ORGANIZATION OF THE UNITED NATIONS

Excellency Mr. Federico Villegas, President of the Human Rights Council of the United Nations Organization,
The Government of Reconciliation and National Unity has already expressed its absolute rejection of each of the Resolutions against our country, which have subjectively been presented before this forum and that today is no exception!
Instrumentalized assessments continue to be made, derived from the economic and political interests of the imperialist countries, whose sole purpose is to affect the dignity and sovereignty of our peoples; without any respect for the identity, sovereignty and historical development of each country.
We do not accept any Resolution, update or report on Human Rights in Nicaragua, because they lack objectivity and conceal a clearly defined political and interventionist bias; far from being based on a truthful compilation of the reality of the Human Rights of all Nicaraguans.
These reports only collect the voices of some minority sectors that are well established under the designs of the interventionist policies of the great imperialist powers, without taking into consideration, the assessments that our State has presented. Therefore, we demand that these Resolutions must not focus or be centered on media campaigns of disinformation and hatred, but rather, we urge the true defense, promotion and development of Human Rights, the exercise of which must be promoted by this international organization, in full harmony with respect for the identity, sovereignty and historical development of each country, without losing sight of the universality of Human Rights.
Our country advances with public policies aimed at protecting the life, health and in general, the wellbeing of an entire People, despite being unfairly subjected to aggressive and illegitimate sanctions by the United States of North America and the European Union, which seek to legitimize their actions, through reports and Resolutions, such as those repeatedly presented here. Our country has also stated repeatedly, within this Forum, that it has never been, nor will ever be a danger and much less a threat, to any country of the world. Our fight is for justice and equality, which allows us to demand that these spaces not be used by harmful sources, to apply unfair unilateral, coercive and illegal measures against Nicaragua, which really constitute crimes against humanity.
We will not tire of calling this forum to assume its responsibilities in the face of the history of humanity, recognizing and respecting the right of the Peoples of the World to make their own decisions and to live in Peace, with Sovereignty, Respect and Human Consideration.
Nor will we tire of demanding that this body observe in an essential manner and in all of its actions, the principles of non-interventionism and equal treatment for all the States that are part of this Universal Human Rights system.
