Nicaragua, Bold Leader in the Climate Crisis

Please join us for this 90-minute webinar about Nicaragua’s achievements in confronting the global climate crisis. 

The presenters are:

Javier Gutierrez, Secretary for Climate Change in the Office of the President of Nicaragua; chief representative of Nicaragua in the United Nations Conference on Climate Change.  He will describe the actions Nicaragua is taking to mitigate the climate crisis and disasters, and Nicaragua’s climate leadership role in the Caribbean countries and beyond.

Rick Kohn, University of Maryland professor, whose research examines the environmental impacts of agriculture and improving environmental management of farms. He will speak about Nicaragua’s promotion of agroecology programs.

Paul Baker, musical artist and environmental activist, will present a short video on Earth Day in Nicaragua.
