NOTE OF THE GOVERNMENT OF NICARAGUA
The Government of Nicaragua ratifies its invariable position of Principles regarding the Respect for the Sovereignty and Independence of States and Peoples.
The Government of Nicaragua ratifies, therefore, its unwavering and unconditional support for the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela, for President Nicolas Maduro and the Bolivarian People in their Defense of their Institutions, their Legislation and their own, Sovereign and Independent, Decisions.
The Government of Nicaragua categorically rejects all Interventionist Declarations and Resolutions promoted and issued against the Venezuelan Government and People, and in particular, strongly rejects and condemns the Convening of a Session of the Permanent Council of the OAS, held without consensus this morning and rejects, therefore, once again, the Agenda and the Declarations therein presented.
The Ambassador of Nicaragua to the OAS, Compañero Luis Alvarado has made it clear that our Government has not endorsed, nor endorses that Council, its Agenda or the Declaration there presented, considering them illegitimate, illegal, and in violation of International Law.
Therefore,
We disavow the Session and the Declaration, considering them inadmissible and in violation of the Sovereign Right of Peoples and their Self-determination.
