COMMUNIQUE
OF THE DELEGATION OF THE GOVERNMENT OF RECONCILIATION AND NATIONAL UNITY
TO THE NEGOTIATION TABLE FOR UNDERSTANDING AND PEACE
The Delegation of the GRUN (Government of Reconciliation and National Unity) at the Negotiation Table for a National Agreement to guarantee the pacific overcoming of the conflicts and to continue working for a Harmonious Coexistence in Nicaragua, declare before our People and the International Community our condemnation for the acts of delinquency and violence carried out over the last 3 Saturdays, and in a particular way, yesterday Saturday March 30.
For three Saturdays, at a renowned private shopping center in Managua, groups of violent hooded people, dressed for media opportunities threaten our people with the repudiated and painful roadblocks, and with similar vandalism and terrorist acts. These Citizens and their corresponding media, have occupied by force, on Saturdays afternoon, a private shopping center, insulting, frightening, scandalizing and physically assaulting those who visit along with their families, these private spaces of Commerce and Recreation
In an attempt to replicate the tragic events that we experienced last year, condemned by the majorities in Nicaragua, these violent individuals, among whom there are members of the self-named Civic Alliance, integrated in the Table of Negotiations, displayed offensive speeches and attitudes of hate and discrimination, as well as rejecting the progress of the Agreements that have been taking place at the Table.
The Delegation of the GRUN (Government of Reconciliation and National Unity) to the Negotiation Table, demands from the Civic Alliance, coherence, and consistency with the supreme interest of the Nicaraguan Families that want and deserve Peace.
We call to leave behind those periods of Terrorism, destruction of Lives, Households, Public and Private Property, of our Economy, of the Right to Work and to a Dignified Life of a whole People. We demand coherence and firmness, indispensable to keep moving forward.
The Delegation of the GRUN (Government of Reconciliation and National Unity) to the Negotiation Table, reiterates to all the Families and Communities of our Nicaragua, that Peace is the Way, is the Supreme Mandate, and that with a High Sense for Common Good, we continue, totally dedicated to serve our people.
