PRESS RELEASE
The Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Nicaragua announces to the Nicaraguan Families and Families of other Nationalities that, through the General Directorate of the National Penitentiary System, it has complied with 50 release orders in favor of persons who were detained for having committed crimes against common security and public tranquility. These people have received the legal benefit of family cohabitation or other precautionary measures.
The delegates of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) participated as observers in the process of releasing the 50 prisoners by unilateral decision of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity.
Given in the City of Managua, on the thirtieth day of the month of May of the year 2019.
