PRESS RELEASE
The Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Nicaragua, informs the Families of Nicaraguans and those of other Nationalities that, in compliance with the provisions of the Law of Amnesty, Law No. 996, approved by the National Assembly on June 8, 2019, the General Directorate of the National Penitentiary System, on Monday June 10, 2019, has released 50 people imprisoned for crimes against common security and public tranquility, and continues to prepare the release of other persons detained for these crimes.
Likewise, we inform that by unilateral decision of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity, the delegates of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) participated as observers.
Given in the City of Managua, on the tenth day of the month of June of the year 2019.
