Brother Prime Minister,
It is with great happiness and inspiration that we remember the events that transpired on September 21, 1981, when the People of Belize would from hence and forever raise the flag of Independence and Self-determination.
It was also with a shared sense of joy for the nascent Nicaraguan Revolution, to be able to stand beside our Belizean Brothers and Sisters, from that very first moment, as you began your journey of freedom, 38 years ago.
On behalf of the People and the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity, and on our own behalf, we wish to express our warmest congratulations to You, the Brotherly People and Government of Belize, on the occasion of commemorating the 38 Anniversary of Independence.
We take this opportunity to recognize the achievements of the Government of Belize, that over the last years and under your Leadership, has managed to build a country that advances on the path of Prosperity and Wellbeing, facing the challenges of our times and promoting a greater integration of the sister regions of Central America and the Caribbean.
