Tortilla con Sal, November 13th 2019

This is a second Twitter thread challenging Naomi Klein over her recent attempt to falsely appropriate the 2010 Peoples Agreement of Cochabamba

Conversation

New thread to accompany the DeKlein thread from yesterday. I would like to digress but I can't, because it's too fucking important! Do we want legitimate movements - or faux bourgeois "movements" (financed by ruling class) that serve to insulate/expand existing power structures?

"Without anti-imperialism as a foundational building block of every social movement, without a comprehensive understanding of history and the existing power structures at work, we not only fail our brothers and sisters in the Global South, we fail as a species."

"Not only will our social justice movements be fought in vain, all legitimate ecological movements undertaken to protect what remains of our natural world will also prove to be futile." Klein is NOT anti-imperialist. She is NOT anti-capitalist.

350 (McKibben, Klein, Boeve), Greenpeace (directors past & present), Avaaz (co-founders), XR (Yamin), are all completely enmeshed with the UN. #UNGlobalGreenNewDeal The UN (a corrupt instrument that serves the West) is partnered w/ the World Economic Forum - home of the #4IR.

Avaaz/350 are closely intertwined w/ Boeve having served as Avaaz director & 350 founders using Avaaz for UN accreditation prior to its incubation by Rockefeller Foundation. Avaaz built momentum for social license desired for annihilation of #Syria & Libya. Klein stayed silent.

That Klein & her ilk, all smiling down from ivory towers, are neither anti-imperialist, or anti-capitalist, yet highlighted as our environmental "leaders" speaks volumes to the ever devolving state of what is accepted as as activism in the Global North. theartofannihilation.com/standing-rock-

One might call this gate-keeping. It's incredible how "socialists" struggle to find the word "coup" in their extensive vocabulary & have difficulty acknowledging one. Note the word "imperialism" appears once in Klein's "This Changes Everything" book which is over 500 pages.

#Diversity in the financed & elite circles of "activism" is merely a marketing tool. An afterthought. Indigenous faces are coveted for posters & campaigns. Effective & emotive imagery for the sought buy-in of market solutions such as the #GND. #Whiteness

This not leadership. This is not environmentalism. This is anthropocentrism. And it's a disgrace. #GND #4IR
