STATEMENT BY THE DELEGATION OF NICARAGUA AT THE
EXTRAORDINARY SESSION OF THE OAS PERMANENT COUNCIL TO CONSIDER THE SITUATION IN BOLIVIA
NOVEMBER 20, 2019
Madam President:
Representatives of the Member States of the Organization of American States.
1. The delegation of Nicaragua reiterates once again its firm condemnation to the coup d'etat perpetrated in our Sister Bolivia.
2. There is a clear and evident reality, the Institutionality of the Plurinational State of Bolivia has been violently usurped by a coup that brought together external and internal actors, whose mission was and continues to be to delegitimize, discredit, defame and destroy the Bolivian State, its Authorities and President Evo Morales, to justify a violent and racist rupture, a fascist and oligarchic usurpation that has been condemned by governments and nations throughout the world.
3. That rupture of the Constitutional order still remains. No resolution or rigged declaration of this Permanent Council can cover up or change that reality. For that reason, we do not support the draft resolution presented.
4. We express our firm and fraternal solidarity with the Bolivian people; we condemn the heinous and hatred crimes that are being committed daily against women and men from the Original Communities. We demand respect for the Sovereignty and Independence of Bolivia as well as the immediate restitution of the Rule of Law, Democracy and respect for Life in the Plurinational State of Bolivia.
