Public International Law (PIL) clearly stipulates which are the international laws, i.e. those that have a universal character and apply to all countries of the world (ius cogens).

But in order for them to have precisely that character of universality and an obligatory nature, they must first meet two basic conditions:

1. They must have been agreed upon, discussed, consented to by the States party to the international agreement. Example: The United Nations Charter, which establishes the universal principles for world cooperation and peaceful coexistence.

2. Once step 1 was taken, the States must accept, adhere to and ratify them, as long as they do so from their sovereign, free and spontaneous will. It is then that these international agreements become Law and as is well known, Law generates two things, the acquired right itself (which was the very purpose of the agreement) and the corresponding obligation, that is, the States are obliged to comply with what was agreed (pacta sunt servanda). Example: The Rome Statute, where States establish the International Court of Justice and voluntarily submit to its jurisdiction.

At what point have the States of the world, including Nicaragua, signed any treaty or agreement that says that the US laws (domestic laws of internal jurisdiction) apply to everyone? The answer is NEVER.

You can NEVER try to give an extraterritorial character to a domestic law, because if you do, it would be in direct opposition to International Public Law and would immediately become a violation of it, trampling on the most basic principles (erga omnes) such as sovereignty, independence and free self-determination of peoples.

That is to say, that the US cannot interfere through their internal laws in the political, economic and sovereign life of any country. Therefore, any legal action that turns its back on Public International law is a violation of it and an international crime that must be condemned by the whole world.

"Sanctions", throughout history have proved to be a complete failure, if we do not look at the example of the criminal imperialist blockade imposed on Cuba for 58 years, has that crime achieved its goal? No. It has achieved the opposite, instead of isolating Cuba, the Yankees have isolated themselves, as evidenced by the fact that in November 2019, 187 countries in the world voted in the UN against the United States and its criminal blockade.

The wrongly called unilateral "sanctions" are acts that constitute crimes, whether they are directed at specific individuals, State institutions or the entire country, as in the case of the Nica Act or those directed this week against the National Police.

In particular, the wrongly called "sanctions", which are in fact aggressions, directed against the National Police and its leaders, only demonstrate one thing: that the gringos with their imperialist policy continue to be outside of any law and that they are located - as always in their history of interference - on the side of the criminals. Two cases that prove this:

- In Syria: the U.S. claims to be sending troops to that country (which no one has asked it to do) to "fight terrorism”. However, there is sufficient and convincing evidence that it is the U.S. itself that created, trains, finances, supports, defends and protects the terrorists that are devastating the Syrian nation (ISIS, Al-Nusra, etc.), precisely created to attack the constitutional and legitimate Syrian Army, which has successfully and courageously defended the national sovereignty of the Syrian state and the Syrian people. The Syrian armed forces has inflicted major defeats on the pro-United States terrorist forces.

- In Nicaragua, the imperialists are doing exactly the same, by attacking the National Police that fought and defeated in 2018 the terrorist forces that ravaged the country between April and July of that year, also created, protected, supported, trained and financed by the U.S. government.

The cases of Syria and Nicaragua show that U.S. imperialism is the biggest terrorist and violator of all the rights of humanity, so it lacks the morality to point at any country or institution.

History and law will prove Nicaragua right in the face of this new imperialist onslaught that it is suffering. Meanwhile, to force the Yankees to change their criminal attitude towards our Homeland, Nicaragua is inspired by Andrés Castro, by the implacable rifles of Zeledón and General Sandino, the force of the red and black vanguard created by Commander Carlos Fonseca and our slogan of Free Homeland or Death ! Death to imperialism!

Long live Free Nicaragua!

They couldn't, and they won't!
