DAY OF NATIONAL DIGNITY
The Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of Nicaragua, and the Nicaraguan People, prepare to commemorate, today May 4th, the Day of National Dignity, when our General of Free Women and Men, Augusto C. Sandino, declared his valiant resistance to the Yankee Empire, denouncing the cowards and traitors who, throughout our people's battle-hardened history, have knelt and continue on their knees, to those who wanted then and still want now, to behave as if they were Masters of the World.
In these times of pandemic and of noble, challenging struggles for Health in defense of the Life of the Peoples, Sandino denounces the cowards, the ever present servile sell outs, saying once again, with his formidable greatness:
I'm not selling out, nor will I surrender,
I want a Free Homeland, or Death!
At 97, as Fernando Gordillo would say, the enemy remains the same. And Andrés is reborn, with his miraculous stone, and Nicarao and Diriangén, Zeledón, Carlos, Tomás, and thousand upon thousand of Heroes and Martyrs are born again in this
Our Homeland, Blessed and Forever Free!
Today, May 4th, Day of Our National Dignity, our denunciation and our union with the beloved Venezuela of Bolivar, of his Supreme Dream, of Chávez, of Nicolás, of that Great, Heroic, Freedom loving People, who continue to confront victoriously the Pandemic of Hatred, continuing with their Great Spirit to defeat the Yankee Invader.
And likewise we also continue united with invincible Cuba, its colossal example of strength, combat and victorious resistance against all Ills, against Imperial Perversity. Cuba, what a beautiful inspiration Cuba is! With Martí, with Fidel, with Raúl, with Miguel, with all that people and their Magisterial Epic Stories. And we are all together, because in Cuba, in Nicaragua, in Venezuela, "not one heart trembles". Our Homeland is Victory! Together we stand and we fight to overcome as we always have!
With Sandino, with his Sublime Legacy, with the duty to sing, to fight, and to win, the Heroic People of Nicaragua repeats with Dario that "here there's a Sun that does not set" in our struggle for Peace with Dignity.
