Resumen Latinoamericano in English - An Important Moment in Time

Dear Colleagues and followers of Resumen Latinoamericano in English,

It is hard to say what will happen after the virus has been brought under control but one thing we do know is that the world will never be the same. Covid-19 did not create the problems of the profit driven model we live under but it did help to quickly expose it in every possible way.

Now, more than ever, independent media has the possibility of playing a significant role in the battle of ideas for the transformation of society to one based on real human equality and mutual collaboration between nations.

In the 5 years that Resumen Latinoamericano in English has been in existence we have grown tremendously and have not only expanded our reach but have been able to bring in more writers, researchers and activists, primarily from Latin America and the Caribbean. We have built an important perspective for a North American audience that is growing increasingly suspicious of anything coming out of the mouths of the corporate controlled media.

We are looking forward to the challenges that this new period presents, but we need your help. We are funded primarily by our own personal resources but we have reached the point where it is no longer possible to continue in that way. Seldom do we ask for financial assistance and, frankly, we don’t like to, but now we have to. If you like the work we do, please consider supporting us. We understand that these are precarious times for many people personally, but we sincerely hope we can count on you to keep us going.

Your donations are tax deductible and can be made online at https://www.resumen-english.org/donate/. If you prefer to write a check, please make it payable to Resumen Latinoamericano and mail it to Resumen Latinoamericano, P.O. Box 22455, Oakland, CA 94609.

We would greatly appreciate it if you could help sustain us on a monthly basis, but we will make the best use of any and all donations that we receive.

With Solidarity and appreciation,

Alicia Jrapko     Bill Hackwell
