COMMUNIQUE OF THE GOVERNMENT OF RECONCILIATION AND NATIONAL UNITY (GRUN) AGAINST TERRORISM
The Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua joins in Commemorating today, June 3, 2020, the Inter-American Day Against Terrorism and the approval of the Inter-American Convention against Terrorism.
Despite the efforts that we make as signatory States to the Inter-American Convention Against Terrorism, we observe the ongoing and multiplying terrorist attacks against Peoples and Governments of the region and of the world.
Nicaragua condemns Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, in particular, State Sponsored Terrorism, applied against the sovereign nations of the planet.
On this occasion we stand in solidarity with all the victims, their families and governments affected by this scourge, to whom we express our condolences.
In the region, Nicaragua will continue to be a factor of stability, regional peace and security, we will continue to be a Wall on Contention against international organized crime and gangs; we will continue to combat terrorism and drug activity; and we will continue to strengthen the nation's socio-productive development and the protection of the health of the Nicaraguan people to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nicaragua reaffirms its steadfast commitment to peace, security and the promotion and protection of the human rights of all Nicaraguans.
